Hearing Accommodations
The Accessibility Team for Assessments provides support for hearing accommodations for the development of assessment materials for internal and external use. We provide support in multiple areas including:
Sign Language
For assessments, customers provide accommodations for deaf and hard-of-hearing students who use sign language as their first language or use it as an accommodation in the classroom. The sign language video provides translations of test content or video content.
Support is available for contract teams and other groups during all stages of development. In addition to assessment support, support is available in terms of providing resources to secure sign language interpretation for Pearson contract/customer meetings or trainings.
Captioning & Transcripts
Assessments have been enhanced by the use of technology and for audio- and video-based assessments, captioning and transcripts are available.
Support is also available in terms of providing resources for adding transcripts or to secure live captioning services for contract/customer meetings or trainings.
