A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our 7th annual Summer Accessibility Institute (SAI)!!!

We offered 32 sessions this year, with a total of approximately 4,774 seats filled and we now have 327 people signed up be Accessibility Champions!

As we all know, making improvements in accessibility is a journey and we’re all on this journey together. Your commitment to learning about and implementing accessibility will help Pearson lead the industry with inclusive and accessible products.

The Accessibility Team for Assessments is now starting our work on post-SAI efforts. We have a lot to do in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned for more information and updates. We will be:

  • Preparing materials to post on our website. This includes doing final accessibility checks on all materials and finalizing captioned video recordings. A new page for SAI 2022 materials will be created and we will notify you when this is ready.
  • We will be identifying winners of signed copies of Gene Rodger’s book, “Awesome by Accident.” We will reach out to the winners by email to sort out shipping details and will post a list of the winners here on this blog.
  • To help people track their progress through the Accessibility Champion (AC) program, we are building enhancements to our website to provide a personal, Accessibility Champion Profile page for AC program participants. Your Profile page will show your current progress within the program. Additionally, it will allow you to modify your profile information, email your manager about your progress, and provide a mechanism for you to review previous Accessibility Champion program courses and take quizzes to earn credit toward badges. We will let members of the Accessibility Champion program know when these enhancements are complete.
