Zoom Connectivity Tips
Internet:
- If possible, use a wired network connection rather than Wi-Fi for reliability.
- Being logged into VPN is not needed to present a session. If you are on VPN, your bandwidth will be decreased and may affect video/sound quality.
Audio Connection
- As sessions are being recorded, we want to ensure that we get the best audio possible. For this reason, we recommend using a phone with a headset or earbuds.
- If you must Use Computer Audio: Although not recommended, if you need to use your computer, be sure to connect an external microphone (headset) to decrease the chance of echoing on the line.
Video or Assistive Technology Demonstrations
- If you plan to have a screen reader demonstration as part of your presentation, you will need to play the sound over your speakers as attendees will not be able to hear sound from your headset.
- If you are planning to share a video, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can demonstrate and test out the best way to share the video via Zoom so that everyone will be able to see and hear it.
- Note: All videos shared need to be captioned or be accompanied by a transcript to meet accessibility requirements.
Webinar Settings to Note
- Practice Session Enabled: The webinars will be in practice session mode when you initially log in. We have enabled the practice session to allow time for testing and troubleshooting audio/video connections before starting the webinar.
- Waiting Room Enabled: Attendees will be placed into a waiting room and will not be allowed to enter the webinar until the facilitator selects the “Start Webinar” button. Note: All attendees will be muted by default when joining the webinar.
- Webinar Recording Enabled: SAI webinars settings have been set to start automatically recording when facilitator selects the “Start Webinar” button.
