2014 Math Equation Editor Usability Test
Executive Summary
The Equation Editor’s usability has improved, particularly for the math only version. The majority of students were able to navigate through fractions, parentheses and other challenging problems after a short learning period. Remaining issues include navigation and finding symbols. The math plus text version of the Equation Editor was more difficult for students to use and students were less likely to notice minor errors or recover from them easily. The tablet versions of the Equation Editor have some usability issues.
